It’s my Mum’s birthday tomorrow and while I can’t spend it with her I wanted to make something that reminded me of her.
This sparkling sangria is filled with things she loves, perfectly ripe sweet cherries, fresh oranges and sparkling wine.
I also added a ginger sugar (with edible glitter cause its christmas!!!) to rim the glasses to give this punch a christmas vibe.
The sugar gives this punch a touch of sweetness and the ginger really elevates this and gives it so much more dimension.
It was just Mum and I when I was growing up and we always went all out decorating the house and having a big roast for lunch christmas day, I always when miss her when we can’t spend christmas together.
So make this punch and share it with those you love and spread the christmas cheer!
Sparkling Cherry & Orange Sangria
300g cherries, pitted and halved
1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
1/2 cup cherry bourbon
1 orange, sliced
1 bottle prosecco
1 tablespoon caster sugar
1/4 teaspoon ginger powder
1/2 teaspoon edible gold glitter
Mix the sugar, ginger and glitter together tip onto a plate and set aside until needed.
Place the cherries, juice, bourbon and orange slices in a punch bowl, stir to combine. Pour over the prosecco and mix gently.
Take orange wedge and rub around the edge of your glasses and rim in the sparkling sugar, ladle punch in and enjoy!
