We went to New Zealand for our honeymoon and it was amazing!! My first time overseas and in such a gorgeous country. The scenery is breath taking and the people are so friendly. We hired a car and drove around the South Island and one of our stops was in Queenstown. While there I had a Manuka honey old fashioned while looking out at the Remarkables, it was one of my favourite expereinces from out trip.

Queenstown was without question one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The whole town is stunning, and it is built around a lake. I love the water. And of course there is the Remarkables, they are one of only two mountain ranges in the world that run north to south and the view of them over the lake is something else.

If you have an opportunity to go to New Zealand, go don’t hesitate just do it. We are planning on going back next year for a ski trip with friends. We spent 10 days driving around the island we stayed most places for only one night and loved every second of it! We did a lion encounter, went to hot springs, walked up to a glacier, went on 2 brewery tours, to an ice bar, on the milford sound cruise and saw the Omaru blue penguins amoung tonnes of ther stuff.

The memory of that honey old fashioned has stayed with me for over 6 months and I had to try recreating it. I didn’t use manuka honey but I made sure to use a good bourbon. This old fashioned brought back all of my memories of New Zealand. Have you been to New Zealand? What’s the best holiday you have ever been on? I definitely want to travel overseas more, I would love suggestions. Where do you reccommend?
