Pork and pineapple are a match made in heaven. They are one of my favourite flavour combos and they work so well in these burgers,

The burger patties are a mix of pork mince and crushed pineapple, the addition of pineapple stops the pork from drying out. The pineapple on the outside of the patties caramelises and the pineapple in the centre adds an extra juiciness to the burgers.

Along with the pineapple and pork patties i added lettuce, tomato, bacon and cheese. These burgers are so juicy and packed with flavour they were a huge hit with out family and know your family will love them too.

If you are an avocado lover like i am, it would be amazing on these burgers to add a touch of creaminess.

Hawaiian Pork Burgers

Serves: 6


500g pork mince
232g tin crushed pineapple, drained well
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
6 rashers bacon
6 slices of cheese
18 slices of tomato
6 cos lettuce leaves
garlic aioli
Barbecue sauce
6 rolls


Place the pork mince, pineapple, onion and garlic powders in a bowl and mix well. Divide into 6 and shape into patties, place on a plate and place into the fridge for 30 minutes.

After you have allowed the patties to rest, heat a fry pan over medium heat, cook the bacon rashers until crispy remove from pan. Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan and add the pork patties, cook 4-5 minutes on each side.

While the patties are cooking, cut the bacon rashers in half. When you flip the patties place a rasher of bacon on each patty and top with a slice of cheese, place a lid on top of pan to steam the cheese so it melts while the patties finish cooking.

Meanwhile, cut the rolls in half, spread aioli on one side, top with lettuce and tomato, add the patties on top, drizzle over barbecue sauce and enjoy!
