Have you jumped on the turmeric latte bandwagon? I love turmeric lattes and drink them frequently, especially in the afternoon instead of having coffee. But sometimes i want something a little different you know? Us millennials always need change amitrite?

So last week i used chai spices and added turmeric and my new favourite (for the next week) afternoon drink was born.

I make my latte’s using my coffee machines milk steamer but if you don’t have a coffee machine don’t worry you can still make this! And it couldn’t be easier. Simply place everything is a saucepan whisk well and heat until steaming, take care not to boil the milk. Then pour through a sieve into cups and enjoy!

Golden Chai | rachaelsfoodielife.comI love to use coconut milk or almond milk to make this latte but use any non dairy milk you like. I find regular milk really changes the flavor of this golden chai latte.

Golden Chai Latte

Servings 2

Ingredients

  • 2 cups non dairy milk
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 star anise
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cardamom pods, crushed

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a milk steaming jug heat until steaming and around 60 degrees, pour through a sieve into serving cups and enjoy!
