hello, is it me your looking for… yes mr espresso martini affogato it is you i’ve been looking for
i don’t always talk to my food, i mean it’s not completely unheard of especially if i am really enjoying it but it’s not an everyday kinda thing.
this espresso martini affogato warrants a real name, like stirling a strong distinguished name for a strong memorable cocktail. this cocktail is beyond easy to make, really, pour some vodka and frangelico into a cocktail shaker throw in some ice shake until really cold, pour into a glass add a scoop of ice cream and pour over a shot of fresh coffee. it doesn’t get much easier.
oh wait, what’s that? you don’t have a cocktail shaker?
just use a jar, any jar with a lid and a strainer or anything to hold the ice in the jar while you pour out the liquid and your in business.
if you want to make this seem really impressive for your guests, serve it with the liquor and ice cream in a glass with the coffee on the side and allow your guests to pour in the coffee, it adds a little theatre and fun.
this espresso martini affogato would be the perfect end to a dinner party, think of it as a night cap. it’s a strong bold cocktails that packs a hefty punch of coffee and booze. personally i think this would be great with brunch – on a day when you don;t really have any other plans so drinking strong cocktails before lunch isn’t an issue 🙂
oh oh, what are you doing this weekend? tell me about your plans!!!
we are going to the brisbane bbq festival!!!! i am so excited! this is the third year it’s been held and we have been every year, i look forward to it so much! it’s a day of incredible food, bbq, low and slow smoked meats, amazing people, great local vendors who have just amazing products and fun! i love talking to the pit bosses, and finding new and interesting things to try. it was 3 years ago at the first bbq festival that i found blend smoked honey and it is still one of my most used condiments it’s just so unique and amazing!
