Happy Sunday. Today is an exciting day, you already know that Sunday’s are my favourite day of the week but today is extra special! We are going to get the contract for our land!!!! Finally our land is registered and things can start happening. EEEEKK!! I can’t even, there are just no words to describe how overjoyed I am! All this excitement means I need a wholesome breakfast to start my day and this charred broccolini with poached eggs & dukkah is perfect.
This breakfast is simple and delicious. The charred broccolini is fresh and earthy.
Broccoli has been one of my favourite vegetables forever. Mum convinced me to eat them by drowning them in cheese sauce. It’s still one of my favourite ways to eat them, I really must share my broccoli & cauliflower bake recipe with you.
I love roasted broccoli, it just changes the flavour so much! Recently I have been really into char grilling vegetables, they keep a bit of crunch but the char adds so much flavour. I love broccolini and zucchini char grilled, what are your favourites? I am always looking for new ideas!
This breakfast couldn’t be easier to pull together, charred broccolini topped with poached eggs crumble over some feta and sprinkle with dukkah for some extra crunch.
You could add bacon or crumbled chorizo, either would be absolutely divine with this! Oh make it with bacon or chorizo and let me know what it’s like!
Serve this up for breakfast alongside some coffee or a bellini and you have Sunday morning heaven!
if you make this recipe or anything else from rachael’s foodie life, make sure to post it and tag me so i can see all of your creations!

Charred Broccolini with Poached Eggs & Dukkah
- 2 bunches broccolini
- 4 eggs
- 80 grams feta
- 8 teapoons dukkah
Place a griddle pan over high heat. If any of your broccolini stalks are thick cut them in half. Brush the broccolini with oil and place in the hot griddle pan and cook for 8-12 minutes or until charred then flip and cook on the other side.
Meanwhile place 2-3 inches of water in a large saucepan and bring it to the boil. Add the eggs, remove from heat and cover and let sit for 4 minutes and 30 seconds.
Divide the broccolini between 4 plates, top each with an egg, crumble feta over each and sprinkle with dukkah. Serve and enjoy!
