hi!! happy thursday!!
so today is day 5 of my whole30 journey and i’ve got to say i was prepared for the worst, but i’m actually doing quite well. i went out for dinner with friends last night, we went to a pizza place…..i has salad and they all had pizza and beers… it was tough. BUT now that i made it through that i know i can make it through the next 25 days.
happy thursday!! we are nearly there!!
how has your week been? what did you do for mothers day?
we are almost at the weekend team!
i have had a really busy, really exciting week! i forced myself to get out of my comfort zone and amazing things started to happen! i am hoping i can share with you soon. how has your week been? what kind of work do you do? i am a full time instructional designer, but my passion is right here. this blog and being able to share my love of food with you is what really makes me happy. do you love your job or do you have a side hustle that is what you are truly passionate about?
Have you ever tried a bee sting? They are one of my favourite desserts and that one^^ Is the second cake I made for my 30th.
I love making my birthday cake, I make cakes for so many people and getting to make mine is exciting. I can experiment and make crazy things, one year I made lime cupcakes with vegetable carbon so they were black. And sometimes I am feeling nostalgic and make something I love, like this bee sting.
When I was 17 I worked in a bakery, which I loved, and one of the speciality’s was bee sting. Buttery brioche and smooth, thick custard topped with crunchy almonds and honey, what’s not to love. Working in that bakery remains one of my favourite jobs, the early starts, surrounded by incredible food, fresh donuts, trays and trays of slices, fresh baked pies and sausage rolls. It was like heaven. What has your favourite job been? Is it your current job?
I am officially in my thirties! Two days in and I am loving it!! Marc organised dinner Saturday night with friends and family, it was absolutely amazing. We had such a fun night, and the food. Oh my the food, was sensational. There was sweet potato falafels, kataifi pastry filled with middle eastern cheese and spicy lamb boureks for entree, all of them were bursting with flavour. Then the mains came out… I didn’t think it could get better, then it did. with garlic chicken kebabs, Moroccan spiced calamari, lamb pizza with rocket, haloumi and eggplant pizza and beetroot salad. So much food and we ate it all, everyone loved it!
